Prof. Alan J. Rocke to Deliver a Plenary Lecture at Cannizzaro 2026

We are pleased to announce that Prof. Alan J. Rocke, Distinguished University Professor Emeritus at Case Western Reserve University and one of the world’s leading historians of chemistry, will be among the plenary speakers at Cannizzaro 2026. Prof. Rocke is internationally recognized for his influential studies on nineteenth-century European chemistry and the cultural context of scientific discovery. He is the author of several landmark works, including Chemical Atomism in the Nineteenth Century and The Quiet Revolution: Hermann Kolbe and the Science of Organic Chemistry, and serves as General Editor (with Peter J. T. Morris) of the six-volume series A Cultural History of Chemistry. His lecture will bring valuable historical perspectives to the congress program.
